Like many origin stories, some hardships and challenges lead to passion and revolution. For Zed, all this rings true.
While vetted and recognized within the Action Sports industry, Zed prefers their anonymity.
Having worked their way through myriad brands and companies within that space, Zed found themselves dealing with industry prejudices, corrupt hierarchies, and injustices on every level, to a point where enough was enough.
Thus began Zed’s new chapter of joining Z_DROPPED.
CHAPTER 1:
The invitation to join Z_DROPPED came by way of “Z” a digitalized entity that witnessed Zed’s plight through computer screens.
Much like the thousands of uncredited artists the world over, Zed’s personal outcry for change resonated with Z so much that it implored Zed to become the first bastion of the Z_DROPPED revolution.
With Zed leading the charge to continue assembling other creatives within the Action Sports industry and beyond, Z_DROPPED was now equipped with a captain.
What’s to follow is an ever-growing roster of artists and designers who share the same ethos Z has, and see the purpose behind why Z_DROPPED exists.
CHAPTER 2:
Coming from the speciality field of design—or rather, leading design departments at brands across the action sports industry—Zed naturally built a formidable network of designer peers and friends.
Through these relationships, he discovered that he was not alone in having to deal with the aforementioned hardships found in the workplace of many of these companies.
While unique to each designer or peer, there were still injustices at work that affected everyone.
Z’s ability to scope out other struggling creatives from behind their screens offered further direction for Zed to then set forth, reaching out to old coworkers and peers alike to spread the word of the new safe haven that is Z_DROPPED.
CHAPTER 3:
As such, Z and Zed were determined to make a change.
They wanted to revolutionize the Action Sports industry and change how brands and customers view the countless, nameless designers who had created that favorite graphic you still rock every summer.
More and more vetted designers from all walks of life started signing up for the cause.
Their work was finally able to shine under the limelight it deserves, as there was finally a platform that highlights the designers behind the icons, logos and imagery you see all across the Action Sports/Fashion world.
CHAPTER 4:
Nothing worth its salt comes without its share of trials and tribulations, however.
While there was a buzzing consensus that a platform like Z_DROPPED was needed, there were still legal fears, apprehension about being recognized for their work—a new concept for many—and challenges in even understanding what Z_DROPPED was trying to do.
Over time, Z, Zed and the initial league of creatives started garnering the support they needed to build what you see before you today.
But that’s just the beginning of this saga. The Z_DROPPED story continues through the ever-growing team of Creatives, each who has their own unique talent, artistic sensibility and their own chapters to tell, all of which will be showcased here on Z_DROPPED.
